Preparing PDF files for workflow

We are currently running older software in order to use Farruhk Impostion to combine PDF files and/or reduce either horizontally or vertically (or both). As Farruhk is no longer available, and we wish to upgrade to current levels of software, it there a software available that will provide this function? At this point, my only viable option is to import the PDF files into InDesign and re-export the PDF file.
