I received the following email. Is it a scam? If not what can I do about it?

Greetings Bob,

Our records show that your site has a licensing issue and requires your immediate attention.

This means that either your site has an unpaid invoice which is 51 or more days past its due date, or your site license is no longer valid because you have changed or interrupted your Creative Cloud subscription.

If the problem persists in the next 7 days, your site will be deleted, including any email accounts in use. Should this occur, your website will incur irretrievable loss of information and we would therefore like to work with you to prevent that from happening.

If your site has a Business Catalyst subscription, please make sure you pay the overdue invoice(s). If your site has an Adobe Direct Subscription, you will need to upgrade to a Business Catalyst subscription. To review and pay the invoice(s) or change your subscription, please login to the Administration interface of your site:

https://cart07.worldsecuresystems.com/Admin

Once the payment has been received your website, administration section and e-mail accounts will be re-enabled automatically.

Should you have any questions regarding this or require assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our supportteam.

Thank you,

The Adobe Business Catalyst team

Are you a customer for any of those things, especially Business Catalyst? Creative Cloud? Adobe Direct? What does your account show (please bear in mind we are NOT Adobe, do not share any personal info with us!)

Warning, scammers may contact you privately pretending to be Adobe staff. Adobe will never send you a private message asking you to email an account that isn't @adobe.com, or use Skype. Adobe never ask you for their password. These scammers want your Adobe info, credit cards, your money and control of your computer, please take care.

Do you have a Website called World Security Systems???

Do you have ANY website???

If not to either then ignore and Delete that email.

None of those links end with adobe.com. They are not from Adobe nor do they point to anything Adobe.

     JSM,

     Not true.

World Secure Systems is  owned by Adobe.  That's where Business Catalyst hosted websites are located.  Notice that the Business Catalyst user manual is on World Secure Systems below?

I'm less inclined to think this is fake.  But the OP needs to follow up on this with their web developer and/or whoever is in charge of their site.

Do you have an Adobe account?

Who hosts your website? Is it on Business Catalyst?

Just so you know, Business Catalyst servers will be turned off permanently on March 26, 2021.  If you use BC servers for your web hosting, you will need to migrate your site to another host well ahead of that date.
