I guess what I'm asking is can I just buy the software instead of paying monthly? I would like to buy the programs but don't know how to get the student discount.

All the Adobe programs except for Acrobat DC & Lightroom 6 are now only available as a subscription through Adobe.

If you want to purchase adobe programs other than these then you'll have to purchase a subscription for it.

Hi Gesssicar,

As Bani says, Adobe is transitioning to subscription only plans for the most part. However, it may be worth calling the number on this page Creative Cloud now includes Creative Suite Master Collection and Design Premium features and inquiring whether you can still purchase CS6 at a student rate.
