Can someone please help.... I had my computer (PC) serviced. They had to reinstall my OS. I have reinstalled CS6 master collection, but it is telling me my serial # is bad. The people in the chat verified my link for downloading, and verified my serial is correct. But they say they cant do anything else, and I have to get my answer from here. Anybody know how to resolve this issue?

your serial number is bad (as in a red x) or bad (as in your serial number is not valid for this product) or bad (as in your serial number is for an upgrade from a previous version).

your installation file and serial number must match.
typical mismatches would be region, language, platform (mac vs win), enterprise vs education vs individual mismatches, Error: "The serial number is not valid for this product" | Adobe Creative Suite

F a c ed17547084 are you installing on Windows or Mac OS? I am showing the serial number registered under your account is for the Mac version of CS6 Master Collection. You can find details on how to locate your registered serial number at Find your serial number .
If you need a fresh copy of the installation files they are available at Download Adobe Creative Suite 6 applications.

if you again see an invalid serial number message, you have a number/installation file mismatch. see message 3.

I bought the creative suite as a student from my school, and even have the number registered onto my adobe account (albeit it was done late). However it doesn't work when I try to actually install the creative suite now. I have the original receipt, though its crumpled and hard to read. Retroactively looking at the receipt now, it looks like I might have registered a digit wrong as well (on the receipt one of the numbers looks like a faded 8, but on the registered number I typed a 3 instead).
I tried looking up how to re-active locked serial numbers, but the adobe guide just redirects me to a cloud subscription. I already bought the suite, so I'd prefer to use that instead of paying a subscription.

assuming you're using a valid adobe serial number (6 groups of 4 numbers), you have a mismatch between your installation file and serial number. ie, you can have a valid serial number, but if it's for program A and your installation file is for program B, you will see an invalid serial number message.
common mismatches are language/region (eg, serial number is for western europe and installation file is eastern europe), platform (eg, serial number is for a mac and installation file is win), license type (eg, education vs enterprise vs individual).
and one of the most common is using a program installation file with a suite's serial number. eg, using a cs6 suite serial number with a photoshop cs6 installation file. that won't work even though photoshop is included in that suite. you must use the (correct) suite's installation file (and you can choose to only install one program from the suite).
here's official info about that error, http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-serial-number-valid-product.html

I got live help from someone on the adobe site and they told me my number was expired. It was definitely valid though, lol. Unfortunately this was a case where my school (or just the individual teacher in this case, who might have been misinformed) mislead us into thinking the serial number was for keeps, when in reality it would expire.
Thanks for replying though, your response is how I ended up getting help to learn this .

It was a year or so ago, so I don't remember the details, but there were several people who wrote in on a long discussion... with the result being what you just said
The "usual" practice when buying an Education license from Adobe is that the serial number does last forever... but in "some" cases the license was purchased in bulk by the school and then sold to students... and that particular process resulted in licenses (serial numbers) that came with an expiration date
