Change the setup file compatibility mode to Windows 7 and run the setup file and check.
Right click on Installer file and select properties option.
Then click on Compatibility tab .
Set the OS to Windows 7 and check.

Can you tell me where to find Installer File? I have the same issue with it telling me I have Vista when I have Windows 7 with Service Pack 1.

Summary, how I finnally could solve the problem:
1. rename C: > Program files(x86) > Common Files > Adobe > Caps . where the only file there was media_db.db (not caps.db, after successfully installed, the new db file is named pdb.db):
this solved the problem with the corrupt first installation
2. start set-up.exe from the directory "Win support files":
This solved the problem that installer (setup.exe in the root directory) could not verify Win7

Having the same problem, and nobody's solutions worked for me...Windows 7, Service Pack 1, All updated. Still, no success. There isn't a "Compatibility" Tab when I right click the installer either. PLEASE HELP.
