What is Creative Cloud

I'm kind of techy but not extremely techy when it comes to Adobe products.  Can someone explain to me exactly what Creative Cloud is in very simple terms?

Creative Cloud is Adobe's replacement for the old Creative Suite

Essentially, Creative Cloud is a subscription service (paid annually or monthly) that gives you access to Adobe's whole suite of creative software and services that allow you to create and move files between desktop, web and mobile apps for working solo or  in collaboration with others.

To add to what's been said:

Your files and programs are located on your computer, not in the cloud.

You do need to connect to the internet periodically to keep your applications activated and to update applications.
