Windows 7 no longer compatable?

I noticed when I tried to update Adobe CC so I could add InDesign to my account that it and the programs are no longer supported by anything but Windows 10. I am extremely disapointed as Windows 10 is a sickening pile of spyware & advertizing with forced updates of usless things that can never be removed, has a terrible user inteface, removes the ability of the user to control and customize the OS, and is ultimately one of the worst OSs to ever exist.

I still run Windows 7 on all my machines for work and home. I am curious to know if my other programs that still work on my Windows 7 OS, Lightrom and Photoshop, will be able to run should I ever need to re-install them, will there be access to a download of an older verion that is still compatable or will I jsut have to cancel my subscription and look elsewhere?

Regardless, you've lost my business for InDesign, there are many other programs out there that still operate on Windows 7 I can choose from.

*Had to put this on the forums becasue the abode's "Contact us" button doesn't work either.

-Win7 is dead https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-7-end-of-life-support-information
-Win8 is also no longer supported https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4580358/windows-8-1-update

Adobe no longer supports direct download of any Win7 program

Direct Download Links https://prodesigntools.com/tag/ddl MAY help
-you MUST do what it says in Note: Very Important Instructions
-https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-2015-direct-download-links.html#download-instructions
-the prodesign links go directly to Adobe's file server, so this process
--will only work until Adobe completely removes the old version(s) from the server
.
When you do have a download, be sure to copy it to AT LEAST one external device
-since Adobe does sometimes remove old versions from the server
-a usb flash drive or hard drive, or write to a DVD

Thank you for the Links to odler versions!

I have downloaded photoshop and lightroom classic 2018 & 2019 as well as Reader 2018 and Premiere Elements 2018 and and backed them up on dvd.

I understand Windows 7 is dead in the eyes of Windows and mega software publishers, but man, every single Windows OS after 7 was absolute cancer and I would rather switch to Lunix should my Windows 7 ever fail me. Even 7 was a step down from XP in terms of user customizability and control and was the first iteration into Windows OS becoming a data collection and advertising program with forced non-removeable updates and bloat first and a subpar OS second.

Can't wait for a digital data rights & privacy bill to be passed in every country.

If you don't keep your downloads safe, the chances of being able to download again is small.

@joryh94630145,

Then I suggest you consult the min-system requirements and switch to an entirely different platform.  Stagnating on an old OS is pure poison in this era of cyber attacks, self-replicating trojans and ransomware.

Check each one.

I am curious to know if my other programs that still work on my Windows 7 OS, Lightrom and Photoshop, will be able to run should I ever need to re-install them,

============

No.  Owing to new technologies and security updates, Adobe expects all Creative Cloud users to have modern equipment and the latest software  -- no more than 2 versions back.  For this reason, your Creative Cloud desktop contains only 2 major versions: the newest + 1 previous.  As of this writing that's 2021 and 2020.  2019 and earlier versions are no longer available.

Pay close attention to Photoshop's new GPU requirements. See links below.

Good luck!

You have a higher chance of being attacked and or breached with the latest OS versions as thats what is targeted. Besides, anything worth keeping secret and secure is best left off the web to begin with. Besides, Windows 10 is just a data collection privacy intruding propaganda pushing advertising program anyways, I don't even consider it an OS, and neither does Microsoft. The "OS" part is just the way of packaging and selling their data collection scheme.

I don't want constant updates that could break my software to begin with but thats all that Adobe offers now, luckily got the last disk version of Lightroom before it went full digital download. I really miss the era opf physical copies and hope we can get back to it when enough poeple realize digital copies and cloud copies are a scam.

Another poster provided me with links to the 2020 and previous installers that work on Windows 7 and I have backed them up on dvd, thanks for your post!

You're welcome.

Adobe established the system requirements based on usage.  They cater to their largest user base which is expected.  Few people still use Win7 or Win8 anymore.  And that number will continue to drop.

Glad you got what you needed 🙂
