2017 - Surround Snippets and Keyboard Shortcuts

So first it does not look like the "new" snippets supports keyboard shortcuts.  You have to have a tagword or whatever.  Ok that is great if I wanted an auto-replace functionality but I want to be able to quickly insert my Snippets using Ctrl+[key] for which is now impossible.

Oh, and I want them to surround text that I may have highlighted and not have to enter something before a block of text and something immediately after in one action.

This along with the whole code coloring debacle and other problems makes this version a step backwards.

If I want to include a Bootstrap label, I hit  'l'+Tab and presto!
