Admin area won't let me in

I have an admin area at the back of it that is obviously password protected, and it works fine on-line, however for some reason the admin area on my local machine will not let me in - it keeps sending me to my log in failed page which means I can't test it.

Do you have any ideas what might have changed? I built it years ago with DWMX on a PC with Windows ME running PWS, I now have a PC with XP pro running IIS. The site is unchanged from its original construction which is ASP with VB. The site content is pretty much dynamic, there is very little that is basic html, and the dynamic content displays fine, so I know it is talking to the database OK.

Any thoughts that anybody reading this might have would be helpful as I have now been asked to update the site, but I can't test the admin area!

Cheers
