I am aware there are latency deficiencies within the Dreamweaver application for both Mac and Windows users that never seem to get resolved even after years of users complaints. I have tried every single "Good Answer" posted in the community and still we are having the same issues many software versions later. I have called the Support line only to be told I should have all of my files directly on my computer instead of a shared server. All fine and good, but when you work on a team with thousands of clients it makes it difficult to edit changes from another users desktop. When is Adobe going to get away from the mantra that Dreamweaver is best suited as a standalone single-user application. I am performing a command-option-shift restart Dreamweaver while typing this to the community. The app is currently "Updating the site cache" and it is literally taking a lifetime to complete. To open Dreamweaver 2021 (iMac24-inch, M1, 2021 macos ventura v13.2.1) on any given day I have to open it first thing in the morning and hope that by the time I need to post my first file it is done 'loading the site cache..."
We all are in the same boat and I feel Adobe has truly ignored this given the amount of chatter on the Dreamweaver community threads for 'years'. Help us so we can help others.
**UPDATE** It's still updating the cache even after this long diatribe!

Dreamweaver is in minimal maintenance mode since 2021. No new features are planned except security & compatibility updates.
Collaborative environments typically use version control on Git or File Check-in/out from the server to the local hard drive. Dreamweaver's editor & file management features have always worked best with files on the primary hard drive.

Thanks for the links, I will review and check back on what worked best for our environment.
