All of my website files on my computer do not show up on Dreamweaver-Why?

When I add a new .jpg or http files to my computer they show up in my website folder on my computer, but are not availale when I try to open them in Dreamweaver. They don't show up at all! How do I get them to show up in Dreamweaver when I try to open them?

What sort of websites are they? What is the name of the program that created the websites? Which version of Dreamweaver are you using and on what operating system?

Did you define your local site folder in Dreamweaver yet?

Site > New Site > C:\MySite_folder\

Did you refresh your Files Panel with F5?

We don't have a lot to go on.  Is this a permissions issue? Are you working in a defined DW site? Mac or Windows? OS Version? DW Version?
