All tabs under insert are greyed out

I saved a preview of my web page as a pdf and messed everything up. Now all the tabs under insert are all greyed out and I'm unable to fix them. What can I do to fix this?

It got messed up again I can now only see the code. Someone please help me what's happening

Which version of DW?

Which OS?

Is the document an HTML file?

Do you have a screen shot of what you are seeing?

Sorry it's my first time using Adobe dream weaver. I'm not sure which version or OS and I was given a template to start work in. It is an html file. How can I find which version and OS I'm working on?

For the version of Dreamweaver choose Help and About Dreamweaver

This will bring up the following dialog which exposes the version

The OS is your operating system. E.g. Windows 10

Please give us a screenshot of what you are seeing, at the very least show the code of the template that you were given.

You can't simply save a webpage as a PDF and always expect things to look as they do on the screen.  That is not how the web works.  If you want to make a feature to make a printer friendly page, that is something that you should look into and usually requires some sort of scripting to do dynamically, or you could create a PDF version for someone to download.
