So a trivial thing to some I suppose - but the App Theme Choices in the newer versions of DW do not allow for white backgrounds for the various panels. Specifically, a white background for the Files Panel. I hate the light gray and would like very much to make it white. I have tried the main.less code with no success. My guess is it is much deeper - or not avaialbe at all. Hoping some hero can direct me to where I can fix this. It's odd to me that adobe would provide 4 choices of gray - and eliminate white altoghether.
thank you...

Go to Edit > Preferences > Interface and select the App Theme on your far right.
See screenshot.
That said, you probably just need to adjust the brightness settings on your display. As equipment ages, the brightness & contrast settings may require more frequent adjustment. Same goes for color calibration.

DW CC is NOT Creative Suite from 12 years ago.
Dreamweaver was redesigned from top to bottom in 2017. They ditched the old panels & themes and introduced all new ones that you see today: dark, medium dark, medium light, light. No more 100% white panels except for NOTIFICATIONS.
The prevailing scientific theory at the time was that 100% white screens cause too much eye strain, particularly when stared at for several hours a day. Customers clamored for dark themes to save their eyes. So that's what Adobe gave them.

Haha. Well - I'm clamoring for white... 🙂
I'd read that was the reason. I actually find the lack of contrast to be straining which is why I posted this question. I'd just hoped there was some code hiding deep somewhere where I could change that. Not the end of the world - but I figured it was worth a shot asking...
Just seems adobe might've left white as an option.

I don't know of any workaround, sorry.
