If not how do I cancel the subscription???

I am at a loss here!!! Please help!

Hi @Pam6C15.

Welcome to the Dreamweaver community.

Dreamweaver is a code editing and site management tool.  It assumes you have basic web design & coding skills.  Why else would you use it, right?

As with any tool, DW is only as good as the person using it.  Or as I often say, tools don't build websites, people do.

See this related discussion from yesterday.

Paul:
Thank you so much, I am not savvy enough to figure out coding so I will be
canceling my subscription, I guess I need a software that already has
website templates. I heard of one called Webflow, are you familiar with it?
Is it free?
Thanks so much for input.

Dreamweaver has built-in Starter Template, too.

Go to File > New > Starter Templates...  pick one and hit the Create button.  See screenshot.

Bootstrap Starter TemplatesBootstrap Starter Templates

Replace text and images with your own.  But without some code basics, this is about as good as it gets.  Nothing fancy, just bare bones stuff.

"I heard of one called Webflow, are you familiar with it?  Is it free?"

WebFlow is NOT free.  It will also cost more to host because you're tied to their hosting plan for the life of your site or until they go out of business -- whichever comes first.   Wix, Squarespace and other DIY online site builders use similar business models:  convenience at a premium price.

WordPress is another popular option and it's open source.

Best of luck!

Have a look at Wappler, it is easier to use than WordPress.

Here I have started a tutorial for non-coders.

Wappler, the only real Dreamweaver alternative.

#1 You cannot run WordPress on your computer.  It must be installed on an actual server.

#2 Google Sites is another animal.  It doesn't support WordPress.

#3 Most commercial web hosts offer WordPress hosting services  and one button installation so you don't have to set it up manually.

#4 Alternatively, you can get a basic turnkey blogging solution from WordPress.com.

Domain = the name of your site.  In other words, you purchase a custom domain name like your_name.com from a domain name service provider like Namecheap, Network Solutions, GoDaddy or Google Domains, etc...

https://support.google.com/domains/answer/4639612

Web hosting = the publicly accessible web server space where your site files reside.  Web hosting is separate from your domain.  For convenience, many web hosts handle both for you for a fee.

ISP = Internet Service Provider.  That's how you connect to the Internet.  Some ISPs like AT&T or Verizon  offer minimal web hosting space as a perk with your Internet service package.  But these are usually very minimal web spaces and nothing anyone would hang their business hat on.

DIY online website builders = content management systems.  Examples include Google Sites, WebFlow, Wix, Squarespace, WordPress.com and others.  These are closed platforms.  You use the tools they give you to use and hosting is on their servers only.

Your paid Creative Cloud Plan also includes Adobe Portfolio -- a free website hosted on Adobe's web servers.  There's nothing to install or set-up, you simply log-in below with your Creative Cloud ID and password.  With Portfolio, you can have a new site up and running in 20 minutes or less.

The default domain name: your_name.myportfolio.com

But Portfolio also supports custom domain names if you prefer:  your_name.com

Nancy if I cancelled the subscription to dreamweaver does that include the Adobe creative cloud? And can I link the website I will make on the domain on google to the Adobe Portfolio? Also, do I uninstall woordpress or delete the folders? I am sorry to be a pain.

           Thank you,

I don't know what you ordered.  A paid Creative Cloud plan would be a Photography plan, All Apps plan or a Single Apps plan.  Check your account portal.  If all you ordered was Dreamweaver and nothing else, then you're out of luck.

https://account.adobe.com/plans

Go ahead and delete WordPress files from your computer.  To use WordPress, you need commercial web hosting on a server with PHP & MySQL.  Google Sites can't handle WordPress.
