I'm glad this procedure worked for someone, but it didn't work for me. Same problem, Windows 10 and Dreamweaver CS6. I've downloaded the latest upgrades for Dreamweaver CS6 but no go. This happened after sending the computer to be repaired; had to reload a number of programs. I have reloaded CS6 but no joy. 
I see the "reset preferences" posts but am afraid to try them.

I've branched and moved this question to Dreamweaver.

 

Please tell us more about what you're trying to do and can't:

  • Which version and build # of Windows?
  • After installing CS6, did you restart your computer?
  • What exact error messages or codes are you seeing?

 

NOTE:  CS6 is discontinued.  There have been no updates released since 2012.  The only upgrade path is to buy a Creative Cloud subscription.
