Software has to be specially written for the iPad and other mobile devices.

Adobe has released a very trimmed down version of Photoshop called Photoshop Express for the iPad

http://mobile.photoshop.com/

You can download Photoshop Express via the App Store on the iPad.

Dreamweaver, no, definitely not. No mobile version is available yet, nor is it likely to be.

I personally have the mobile version of photo shop on my iPhone and iPad, the previous version before the latest update was fantastic but since the iOS seven update the new version of photo shop express and the PS touch app, I bought, are both a load of hogwash and not as intuitive as they were before.

Before, they were like miniatures professional photo editing applications, but now after the update they are very similar to those amateur programmes such as  ACDSEE, & the like. From pro app, upgraded to fun app,is what I would summarise it as. iPhoto has now become superior to it on my iPhone and iPad and I no longer use them for they have become defunct in their new interface I do not like them at all any more.

As to Dreamweaver not being available on Apple products at least the mobile ones, such as iPhone, and iPad, I should say this will not happen I agree with you because Adobe want to do the same as Microsoft, with their Microsoft Word.

That is, namely, to force the user to go online and edit their documents in the cloud using online what you see is what you get editors. This of course is web of Adobe and Microsoft have cocked up!

Why?, I hear you ask, well, because, people like to keep their files on their local device and it is going to be a long long time before the next generation come and accept this method which is trying to be forced basically Adobe and Microsoft, you have both renounced your share of the market to others who will produce such apps for Mobile devices be very android or IOS. whoever it was on the board of directors or decision-makers, who made this decision, (mistake), is of course an imbecile and a corporate one at that.

Reason being, that only corporations and collaborations with out on a corporate or professional level will be edited on the cloud using online editing tools. Rest of the world and that means the majority, will remain editing their documents be there publications books websites articles or manuscripts of forms or whatever, on their local device so no Dreamweaver? Nevermind someone else will bring is one until then I'm too lazy to use your cloud and then also not supporting it. All the major corporations and software designers are trying to do is force the consumer to leave all of his personal private and user data in the cloud so that it is kept in the giant brain of marketing research. Well it isn't anyone be mine stays here on my machine on my hard drive portable but it's not going in the cloud never was is not and never will be. As soon as you leave it in the cloud you give the owner of the server and mountain of rights, with which your personal content can be on and manipulated for their own purposes take your Dreamweaver and put it in the Past, where it belongs, who needs it anyway. I don't think hardly anybody uses such software any more, with so many ready-made CMS such as WordPress Joomla! and family

The only way I can think of for running Dreamweaver is by using Log Me In.

And that will work just fine as long as both your computer and your iPad (or iPhone) have a good connection to the Internet.

But you have to have a remote computer with Dreamweaver installed on it in order to make that work.

here's my setup for my iPad if i had to work on things while away from my laptop and desktop.

  • get a dropbox account www.dropbox.com
  • install PlainText on your iPad (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/plaintext-dropbox-text-editing/id391254385?mt=8)

you will create a folders on your dropbox account that has your web page files. PlainText on your iPad can access and edit these files on your dropbox account. now whenever you are on a different machine, let say your desktop, you can access these files using dropbox as well. the list above are all free. i eventually started using dropbox as a storage media for my web site projects because i can be on my laptop or desktop at home, my iPad while i'm out, or my desktop at work. as long as there's internet connection, all my files are sync. i believe there's an offline mode where it will sync once an internet connection is present.

of course these files are running on a development environment and not production.

note: PlainText is a text editor. it is not DW with code hints and automagically creating code. there isn't a way to view the files either... yet. i'm hoping for someone to make a web server app for the iPad. i did see some articles talking about install apache on iPhones via webdav but it requires jailbreaking
