Can not open Dreamweaver CC

Community Beginner ,
Feb 22, 2022 Feb 22, 2022

Hello.

I have an older version of Dreamweaver (Dreamweaver CC) that I want to keep and still use - but my problem is that I now can not open the program.

When I try to open the program, I get a message to log in with my Adobe ID.

And - when I log in with my Adobe ID I get a message that everything is ok - and that I can go back to my application.

I'm trying to reopen Dreamweaver - and the same message pops up asking me to sign in with my Adobe ID, etc. - an eternal loop.

Anyone can help me solve this so I can open the program?

Yes, I have tried to close and reopen my CC desktop and it is up to date.

Also reinstalled Dreamweaver without this help.

Have no problem opening other Adobe programs - the problem only applies to Dreamweaver.

Have you tried to install the latest version of Dreamweaver to see if you get the same problem? Yes you can keep your older version as well as the newer version. You just can't run both at the same time.

Wappler is the DMXzone-made Dreamweaver replacement and includes the best of their powerful extensions, as well as much more!

I've run into this a few times while running an older CC version of DW. Logging out of, and back into, the CC Desktop App will fix it for me.

Thanks for the tips, but have not solved the problem.

Have also installed the latest version of Dreamweaver for testing - that works - but it is impossible to open Dreamweaver CC.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled DreamWeaver CC without this fixing the issue.

When I try to open DreamWeaver CC, I get a message to log in with my Adobe ID.

And - when I log in with my Adobe ID I get a message that everything is ok - and that I can go back to my application.

When I'm trying to Dreamweaver CC - the same message pops up asking me to sign in with my Adobe ID, etc. - an eternal loop.

I think there must be a file in the Dreamweaver CC folder that prevents me from opening Dreamweaver, can it be deleted or changed?

Have you tried logging out and back into the CC Desktop Application, not Dreamweaver, but the Creative Cloud Desktop App specifically?

1. Open the CC Desktop App and click in the upper right...

sign out.jpg

2. Choose Sign Out at the bottom

3. Restart your computer.

4. Go back to the CC Desktop App and sign in.

5. Try opening Dreamweaver CC

If the above still doesn't work, you can use this resource to go after a few different files that might be causing the disconnect...

Which operating system do you have (please be specific).

Which version of DW are you trying to open?

I ask because it could be your OS no longer supports the version of DW you're trying to use.

Thanks for the tips, but the tips have not solved the problem.

My operating system is Windows 10 versjon 21H2

I use Dreamweaver CC Version 13.0

I'm aware that Adobe no longer offers support for this version - but that's not the support I're asking for.

I just want to open the program.

@janp50393892,

Close all apps, restart your computer.

Go to Windows Start menu.

Right-click on Dreamweaver 2013 icon and select More > Run as Administrator.

Now what happens?

I have also tried this.

Closed all apps and restarted computer.

Tried to start Dreamweaver CC via the Windows start menu as an administrator - and the same thing happens.

When I try to open the program, I get a message to log in with my Adobe ID.

And - when I log in with my Adobe ID I get a message that everything is ok - and that I can go back to my application.

And when I'm trying to open Dreamweaver - the same message pops up asking me to sign in with my Adobe ID, etc.

An eternal loop.

DW is not in the CC Desktop app, because I downloaded the program from Adobe before installing CC.

I did the same, but DW is anyway in the CC cloud... so you should be able to find it there... if not, that probably mean that DW is not part of your subscription... which isn't the case, so it must be there

Something must be wrong with your installation of the older app.

All of your installed CC apps should show in the Apps tab, like this...

JonFritzII_1-1645796180460.png

The Windows version of CC 2015 is still available (just tested and verified).

Go to this site and follow the "very important instructions" to set a cookie on Adobe's servers. That will allow you to get the installation download (it's from Adobe's actual website and can be trusted)...

https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-2015-direct-download-links.html

At this point, reinstallation is probably your best bet.

It has worked 100% for several years without any problems - until last week.

Believes that the error is possibly due to either a Windows update or an update of Adobe CC.

Will try out the latest tips and take the opportunity to thank for all the tips.

Did you get this working?

I am a CS6 user, and wanted to try Dreamweaver CC 13 - hopefully before Adobe added the css designer.

I also cannot get 13 to run, it just approves my cloud account, then never loads

No, Dreamweaver CC will not open.
I have tried all the tips without success, so I have given up.

@LeeBow

TRIAL members do not have access to previous versions, only the current version which is 2021.

I'm not a trial member. I bought CC from Adobe in 2013.
But anyway, I have given up on opening the program.

If you have a subscription, why not use 2021?

Sorry - to be clear, I'm a Adobe CC subscriber, I could use latest dreamweaver cc (21?), but I hate the css designer after using cs6 for so many years, I don't want to learn the new code colors or css designer.

i was hoping dreamweaver cc 13 - still would have the old css editor, but maybe support emoji utf8 encoding and have Hdpi display support.

(not sure why OP wanted 13 access, that's just my 2 cents)

LATEST

Then don't use it.  DW's code editor with code hints and auto-code completion is much faster and more precise than panels.

You can change code colors by grabbing a new theme from GitHub.
