Can't highlight text without highlighting EVERYTHING

Engaged ,
Sep 10, 2023 Sep 10, 2023

I use Dreamweaver on a Mac. This problem started several days ago.

Suppose I highlight the woreds "This problem" in the sentence above. As I move the cursor to choose Edit > Copy or down to make the text bold or italicized, all the text the cursor passes over is highlighted. Long story short, I can no long cut and paste individual words or blocks of text, unless I do it in HTML mode.

Is this a new bug? What's the fix? Thanks.

It looks like a corruption of the settings files. Have you tried resetting preferences or clearing the cache?

Unusual behavior in Dreamweaver? Try resetting preferences.

If it just started happening in one document, try this:

1. Toggle between LIVE & DESIGN View with Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + F11 (function keys enabled).

2. Validate code and fix reported errors.  Window > Results > Validation... check document.
