I can't reproduce the problem on my end.

Can you type left and right < > chevrons in other apps?

Have you tried Restoring DW Preferences?

I'm guessing you have an unclosed tag somewhere in your markup that's causing DW to choke.

Validate code and fix reported errors. Window > Results > Validation.  Check current document.

Thank you  for your reply. I have tested multiple documents and created a New Document (html). None type <.  I notice, when typed, it pops me to the bottom of the page (of all documents tested). This happens on html, ccs, and txt docs opened in Dreamweaver.  I wonder if its a problem with my keyboard, but that key works in the content area, just not the code side. I'm running Split view, Design mode.

Thank you Nancy, Restoring DW Preferences did the trick. Yes, the < chevron worked on all other apps, along with >, worked. It was, still is, very perplexing. I wish I knew what caused it, but I am very thankful the issue is gone. Thank you so much!

I have tried to replicate the problem without much success. On purpose made a lot of coding errors, still the `<` key works.

Sorry, can't help.

Thanks for trying Ben. Nancy's suggestion of restoring DW preferences worked. I can't imagine how it happened in the first place. One minute it worked, the next, nothing. So odd. I appreciate your time in researching and responding.
