Magento has a free, unsupported, community edition ( http://www.magentocommerce.com/ ). It is a cart program. But there is no payment processor that is free. Any payment processor you find will charge you a fee, even something as simple as Paypal. Cashie is a cart/payment solution ( http://cashiecommerce.com/ ). It's free to setup, but they charge you per sale. Do you already have a payment processor or merchant account you are looking to connect with or are you looking for that too?
