Connecting and transferring HTML file, but nothing on the server. Why?

Hello,

I have used Dreamweaver CS3 for years. After installing it on a new PC I now have problems to upload files via the inbuilt FTP. DW connects to the hosting server and when transferring a new file it shows "transferring" and "file transferred", but there is nothing on the server and the new page does not load in the browser. Why?

It works fine if I use an external FTP software, but not with the Dreamweaver FTP function. There is nothing wrong with the file/page name. I have tried to switch off the fire wall, but the problem is still there. I have searched the forum, but found nothing that helps. Please help me!

If you have a windows 10 PC, then there is the possibility that CS3 will not work correctly.

The first thing you should check however, is your site definition, to ensure it is uploading the files to the correct folder on your server.

Thank you! I am using Windows 7 Professional, so that should be fine. The folder on the server was right, but based on your reply I continued to check and found that the Dreamweaver setup pointed at the wrong folder on my PC. That solved my problem. Thanks again!
