Connecting to MySQL via DW after Leopard install

I cannot connect to MySQL 5.041 through DW CS3 after upgrading to Leopard. MySQL Admin and MySQL Query Browser both can connect and make queries to the database. I just can't connect through Dreamweaver. I get the "MySQL Error#: 2002" error which states "Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/mysql/mysql.sock' (2). Problem is there is no such path.

There may be an updated needed for dreamweaver, however, I did find some info about MySQL running on Leopard:

http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=32019

and some workarounds that I have not tested as being valid:

I did an Erase and Install of Leopard. Then a clean install of Dreamweaver CS3. Then an install of MySQL5 32-bit package and I have the same problem. After attempting to connect and getting the error message mentioned, Dreamweaver CS3 crashes.

I think it's possible it could be an issue with MySQL. I have posted this question on the MySQL forums with no response. More then likely MySQL will have an updated versions for Leopard users.

Just wanted to followup and let you know that the advice provided in those links did in fact fix MySQL 5 to work with Dreamweaver CS3... however, the pref pane controls still do not function.

Very cool. Thank you. I'm surprised there were no posts from the Adobe staff on this one. BTW I checked out your company and web site. Very cool. If you need a pro photographer to add to your staff please let me know. www.davidbarrack.com.
