Hello  I am an Amature ( 70 +) I have enjoyed Adobe  ever since they bought Macromedia Contribute.  This is my first time to seek  help from the Knowledgeable Community.  My Server/ Host company  has blocked my site because it is / was compromised.  They tell me They cant help.

I have my website files on disc since  2002 / 2003  How do I get my site back on line. Or  how should I deal with  the hosting company.

I do not mind  loosing a lot of the  content   but  ( I may have to rebuild ??).  If you can offer some advice it would  keep me  passing the time, I do not make any money from the websites I own.

I Look forward to any replies

I'm afraid Contribute is End of Life.  It was discontinued many years ago and hasn't been updated in so long it's unlikely to work with modern web hosts.  CS3 activation servers are dead & gone.  Even if you have an installer and serial number, you can't activate the software.

Contribute was sort of a poor man's Dreamweaver, used to "contribute content" to an existing web site.  Assuming you have access to the site files and can work with code, you could edit your site with any plain text/code

Contribute was sort of a poor man's Dreamweaver, used to "contribute content" to an existing web site.  Assuming you have access to the site files and can work with code, you could edit your site with any plain text/code editor and upload/download files with a S/FTP client like Filezilla or Cute FTP.

"My Server/ Host company has blocked my site because it is / was compromised. "

In other words your site was hacked and infected with suspicous scripts or malware which forced them to take it offline.  You would need to replace the infected files with uninfected files.
