CourseBuilder Extension for CS3

Guest
Jun 28, 2007 Jun 28, 2007
I am not able to locate an extension for CourseBuilder for the current release of Dreamweaver - the only ones I can locate are for MX 2004. Can anyone provide a location or link?

If there is not then is one planned?

Thanks in anticipation.

Hello again

To let you know that I successfully downloaded and installed the Extension from Rapid Intake's website for Dreamweaver 8 which appears to have integrated into my CS3 version without any problems.

Cheers

Coursebuilder was sold to Rapid Intake going into Dreamweaver 8. You can
get a free extension for DW8 at http://www.rapidintake.com .. I've also
been meaning to see if there is one yet for CS3, but it's possible the DW8
one works .. some extensions do.

Thanks Nancy for your very prompt response - it is most helpful.

I have made a note to visit the Rapid Intake website and will let you know how I get on.

I also have DW 8 and CS3. I installed Coursebuilder for 8 and it shows up in DW 8 but not in CS3. I uninstalled cs3 (possible there was a conflict) and found out that DW8 must be installed to install CB.

It seems like a CS3 upgrade is needed.

You have to contact the company that purchased CourseBuilder when Adobe
acquired Macromedia. Go to http://www.rapidintake.com and see if they have
produced a CB extension for CS3. They made the Version 8 one .. ask them
about CS3.

The last I heard Rapid Intake was to begin work on the CS3 compatible extension this fall. There is not a CS3 version available at this time.

FYI, I have installed CB 8 into DW CS3 without a problem. My experience thus far is that things generally work, but you may run into some bugs. This is in a Windows XP OS.

I have heard of problems with installing in Vista. Has anyone successfully installed CB8 into DW CS3 under Vista?

I have asked Rapid Intake and they tell me they have just redone their
website and that information is coming back soon. No idea how long "soon"
is. I have asked them about an update to the extension and am awaiting a
response. I'll post back when I get that.

OK. Since it was freely distributed at one time, would it be illegal for someone to send it to me? I am tasked with creating some basic e-Learning courses and I heard great things about this extension. If it is illegal, please disregard this request. Thanks.

I don't remember exactly what the licensing said at Rapid Intake. However,
the most recent version that exists is for Dreamweaver 8 and may or may not
work with Dreamweaver CS3. btw, I got no response to my second question to
them in a 24 hour period. I probably won't.

Then the current one would work for you. Course no one can send it to you
since your email address is webforumsuser@macromedia.com. :)

The downloads page on Rapid Intake is back up:

http://www.rapidintake.com/adobe_coursebuilder_downloads.htm

That will do you for DW8 .. I'm still trying to get an answer from them as
to a version for DW CS3.

Hi
Anyone know if the DW8 version can export scores/tracking info etc in SCORM format ?

Or is it AICC like the MX2004 version ?

I'm about to build some non-Flash eLearning content that needs to work with Moodle.

Thanks for any advice
