I'm editing someone else's website. When I switched to Dreamweaver. For some reason, there are 4 buttons at the bottom that stopped working. I just want to highlight the text and get it to jump to the right page. How do I do that? I know it's easy. But I'm not a true web designer. I'm an Editor of TV/Film just trying to help this lady out.

Hi teresab94873510,

Apologies you are facing an issue with Dreamweaver.

Can you please throw some more light on the issue:

  • Is is possible to share the snapshot or gif.
  • Or it would be great if you can share the file with us.
  • What platform (MAC/Win) and what version you are using.
  • Which buttons are causing the issue.
  • Is this always happening.
  • Can you restart the application and give it a try.

Please let us know if issue gets fixed.

Else we will be happy to assist you further!.

Thanks,

Mahak Kudyar

On the document Toolbar, switch to Design View from the drop-menu.  See screenshots.

Open your Properties panel (Ctrl+F3).  Or go To Window > Properties.

Highlight desired text in your page as I have with my Blog button.  Add URL to the link field.

If this fails to solve your problem, validate code and fix reported errors.
