CSS code works great... until I hit the save button.

I am working on a redesign of my own personal website and I cannot get the website to do what I want it to do, and then I do. I get excited and hit "save" and then the CSS goes back to where it was before I messed with it. I have tried opening the webpage in a browser separate from Dreamweaver and I still cannot see the changes that I have made.

I have been through my code with a fine tooth comb, comparing it line by line with another website of mine that is doing what I am trying to replicate, and I cannot find the source of my problem.

Any ideas as to what might be wrong?

Are you using an external CSS file?

Can you provide a link to your page online?

Can you try turning off related files:

Preferences > General

Uncheck Enable Related Files

Restart Dreamweaver

I am using an external CSS file, and the problem still occurs when I view it outside of Dreamweaver.

How can I provide a link to this page? It is currently unpublished. I would upload the zipped file here but there is not an option to do so.

Normally web designers have access to a server for putting up test pages That's another issue, though

Here is a little tip I often give my customers. It might help you:

At the top of your CSS file, place a comment with a version number or date:

/* January 4th - 3;15pm */

Preview the page in Google Chrome.

Press F12 to open developer tools

Switch to the Sources Tab

Find your CSS file and check the comment.

At least you will know if your page is using the latest style sheet.

Change Related Files options as I stated in last post.

If you cannot figure it out, then you will need to get a live page online so others can analyze your page and your CSS.
