Deleting/erasing files from welcome screen on CC17

Community Beginner ,

Please HELP,

New to dreamweaver and trying to simply delete unused files from the welcome screen, which seems to be an impossible task to do.

All I want is to delete those files that have been used as practice and/or are 'uncorrected' coded etc. it should be a simple 'select/delete' but all I get is a message that the file has not been found, so I believe that is deleting the content but not erasing it from the welcome screen, as the file name is still displayed, is extremely frustrating, in particular when one is new to it.

Thank you

PS. MAC user.

Not sure why "turn it off the window" was marked as the correct answer for "how do I delete the list from the window", that doesn't seem right to me.

The problem is, DW is reading the computer's registry to see what files have been opened recently in the program and they don't give an option within the UI to erase the list. There are a few program files in DW that tell it to do this, but I'm not sure which one(s) should be modified or how to modify them without affecting the stability of the prog

To get rid of the start-up screen go to Edit > Preferences and un-tick Show Start Screen

Obviously, opening more "work" files will start clearing the older recent files from the list naturally.

You can use the Feature Request/Bug Report option in the Help menu of DW to suggest the feature. If enough people want it, Adobe may add it.

There is also the option of editing your computer's registry (not recommended) which has been discussed in the forum before: Clear Recent Files List from Splash Screen that "should" also work for CC versions.

Ben thank you very much for you reply but Jon is right. I don't want to hide the start screen but delete/erase content from it.

It seems that Dreamweaver doesn't allow us to do it, hope they will change it on the next update.

Thanks again.
