Does anyone at Macromedia read this forum?

How can you put out an update that doesn't install correctly? I have tried to install 8.0.1, then 8.0.2 and they MAY have installed. Who knows! I still see "Dreamweaver 8.0" on the splash. I am not running some exotic system; just XP, so where am I as far as DW updates are concerned? And, from what I see on the forums, I am not alone as far as problems are concerned...and, worse yet, I don't see Macromedia/Adobe/whoever acknowledging that there is a problem!

This scares the Hell out of me since I have quite a few DW projects in my Macromedia folders and I can NOT afford to lose them. Also a bunch of extensions.

Does ANYONE out there know what's going on?

FRUSTRATED...

Hey, Jimmy, we are NOT alone, I am afraid.

But I am sure that they tried the update on Windows 98 and it worked, so why not on XP?

Hmmmm. Is this what we can expect from the "new organization?"

Is DW running? What do you see when you use HELP | About Dreamweaver, and
then click on the page that appears?

You should just be able to download and install 8.0.2 which includes all the
8.0.1 updates as well.

and they MAY have installed. Who knows! I still see

With the 8.0.1 updater, the splash still (incorrectly) showed 8.0 but Help >
About showed 8.0.1.

Nevertheless you should just download and install 8.0.2.

NO, John!

What I have been saying is that I DID download 8.0.2 and I DID install it and it DID say that the installation went correctly, but Help/About still says "Dreamweaver 8.0!"

Again, doesn't ANYONE from Macromedia-Adobe look at this forum??????

No, they typically don't.

If you have an issue use one of your Tech Support calls.

Calm down. We're trying to be helpful.

That's not how I understood your original post.

You said you installed 8.0.1 then 8.0.2 and I was simply pointing out that
8.0.1 should not be necessary.

For the record, 8.0.2 worked fine first time for me on XP Pro.

> Again, doesn't ANYONE from Macromedia-Adobe look at this forum??????

It's a user-to-user forum.

If you want to talk to Adobe directly, call them or email them directly.

At risk of upsetting you again, have you tried uninstalling and
re-installing DW?

I had a similar problem which I fixed by re-installing dreamweaver. I think I deleted the original app first, but not 100% sure. Your actual project files should be separate from the app anyway.
