I don't want to watch training videos. I don't want to do sample projects. I don't want to have to click on dropdown carets and links and navigate and scroll through webpages. I want to download and read the full user guide documentation for Dreamweaver 2022 (CC) found here https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/user-guide.html

as if I'm reading a book. How can I do that?

The searchable, text-based User Guide can be found online at the URL below.

https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/user-guide.html

For quick access from Dreamweaver, go to Help menu > Dreamweaver Help (F1).  See screenshots.

@Deleted User,

Is this what you want?

Dreamweaver Reference Manual PDF

It's easy to criticize Adobe, but even easier to use Google. 🙄

Thanks Ben. I've used the Classroom in a Book series before. Though good on one level, they don't go into as much detail as the full user guides and are not as helpful if you are planning to take the certification exams.

Why on earth would you want to obtain a Dreamweaver Certification? It's akin to registering a dog that has kicked the bucket.

I understand. My apologies for my negative view.

Back on topic: I believe that you are out of luck regarding the options for the documentation. It's either

https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/user-guide.html

or

https://www.adobepress.com/store/adobe-dreamweaver-classroom-in-a-book-2022-release-9780137623259

and the many YouTube vids.

@llilli.

The ACA and ACE exams (if they still offer them) would be of no value given that Dreamweaver isn't receiving new features other than security & compatibility updates.  It's in minimal maintenance mode.

Unless you have aspirations of teaching at an Adobe Certified Training Center, I don't see a whole lot of value in any of the AC exams.  They merely prove you prepared for & passed a software exam. Beyond that,  they don't measure real world skills & talents.

Did you try to download it using Acrobat (ctrl shift O) then from there, set the proerties and click download, you'll get a PDF of the part of the help that you want.

Amen to that.  Adobe and nearly all other big web development companies do not care to provide full support for paying customers, even when there is obviously great demand for something like a PDF version of their online help.  How difficult is that?  We can submit idea suggestions until we are blue, but it always falls on deaf ears.  We can use "Enter Reader View" with our browser (at least with Firefox you can), which creates a fine version of the webpage, and then save it as a PDF.  So, we can, and have to, do it one page at a time.  But why should we have to do that?  Paying a monthly subscription of $20+ year after year and they don't provide a PDF of the user guide (like they used to do)?

My wife was a school teacher her entire career.  One thing she helped me understand, and which was at the core of her teaching excellence, is that people learn best in different ways.  Listening or reading or visual.  I agree with every word you said, llilli.   I am a reader, but I guess Adobe can't think beyond its balance sheet.

No, actually, it's not.  That link points to the one I already have, which says "Last updated 11/7/2019" in the front pages.  They couldn't have decided to communicate by adding another sentence to that indicating the old 2019 user guide is applicable to the latest versions of Dreamweaver through month/year? I wrongly assumed Adobe would have made some changes or updates of one sort or another since November 2019. I understand now why Ben said "It's akin to registering a dog that has kicked the bucket."  I just now checked the Adobe product page and see that Adobe has decided to get out of the website developer business.  They don't have a successor.  Portfolio doesn't count.

Yes, it is easy to criticize Adobe.  They have always spoken in tongues.

I like Dreamweaver and will continue to use it for as short a time as possible until I learn another product. What's that you say, Ben, about "Wappler?"

Wappler is too expensive, twice Dreamweaver.  Go figure.  However, I have made my new software decision fairly easily after web research.  I have already gone a bit beyond this forum's focus, so I will just, with respect, bid adieu.

If you are a fair dinkum developer, then I will see you in the Wappler Community in the not too distant future. Auf Wiedersehen.
