Download Old Dreamweaver onto new computer

New Here ,
Aug 30, 2018 Aug 30, 2018

I have this really old dreamweaver product downloaded on my old computer, I want to download that software onto my new computer without paying anymore money. I have that product registered under my adobe account, but there is no option for me to download that dreamweaver at all, it just gives me a serial number, which the chat person said is invalid, thus I was redirected to this forum, to see if anybody can help me download the old software onto a new computer.

Inasmuch as someone saw fit to resurrect this 4+ year old topic, I'll take this opportunity to update before locking this topic to further posts.

Adobe's aged out activation servers for legacy Creative Suites 1  - 4 as well as pre-Creative Suite Macromedia products no longer exist.  Even with a valid serial number and your original installation disks, it's impossible to activate these products beyond the initial trial period.  A virtualbox with legacy operating system won't help you.

If your serial number is invalid there's not much you can do.  What version of DW are we talking about? There are some links still on Adobe's website to download old versions, but they will need to validate your serial number. Did you purchase this through Adobe or an authorized reseller? If so you might be able to go back in your order history if it was a download and see if you can still get the serial. If not, there's not a lot of DW options except to subscribe to CC.

Older versions of DW may not be compatible with newer OSs.  That said, below are the old Creative Suite downloads.

Just an FYI...

Windows 10 will run Dreamweaver, down to at least CS3, perfectly. The only issue would be 4K displays. The only real problems with compatibility are all on the Mac side.

never forget that what ever the machine and the os are... there is always the possibility to run a virtual machine.... I still use very old stuff such that way and it works like a charm... and best one can still copy paste in between vm

True. You need Windows 10 Pro, though, to run VMs. I wonder if you can switch out of 4K in a VM?

I also have an old version of Dreamweaver and Flash, 2004 MX.  I have a very narrow need for these programs and they both met my needs.  Both were registered, but some some reason now the Flash program says it is not.  No idea how THAT came to pass, haven't used Flash on this computer in a long time.  This is on the same computer on which it was originally installed, with the same Win 7 Home version OS.  When I try to re-register, it says it can't connect to the internet...which it obviously does given this post.  Probably the receiving server changed, and it gives no option for changing it.  It also says you can register it over the phone, but neither of the phone numbers on the screen still work.  I chatted with an Adobe rep, who said I need to check here in this forum.

So, any ideas?  I have the program; I have the serial number.  They are installed. Dreamweaver appears to work fine, just not Flash.

Thx, Rick

I can't help you with 2004 activation because those servers were taken offline many years ago.  Besides Flash is end of life.  Browser support for Flash Player plugin is almost non-existent and Adobe is ending the Player in 2020.

I have the program; I have the serial number.

Are you using the non-activation serial number provided at this link?

Likewise CS5 and CS6 are on life support.  Their old 32-bit installers are not compatible with macOS Sierra, High Sierra or Mojave without terminal workarounds.  And they simply won't install on modern macOS Catalina, Big Sur, Monterey or Ventura which require 64-bit apps.

Best advice, get modern software that's compatible with your modern device.  If not Dreamweaver Creative Cloud, then some other code editor.
