Does anyone know if Dreamweaver 8 supports being installed on Windows 2000 Advanced Server?

i.e. (A) Has anyone here installed and successfully used it on that O/S?, and
(B) Does anyone know if Adobe "supports" that configuration? (fwiw)

Have you check with Dreamweaver Support Techdocs for your situation?

Of course! I wouldn't bother all you nice people if I could find the answer myself.

But trying to use the adobe website is like banging your head against a brick wall. I went in circles for 45 minutes.

Besides that, one first hand account from someone who has done it successfully or unsuccessfully is worth 1000 Technotes.

Tom.

Why the heck are you putting it on Windows 2000
Advanced Server?

It is a desktop app.

That's a pretty rude response.

Ever heard of a development server?

We're a small office, only 2 developers. The PC I work on at my desk acts as my local testing server.

Before you come up with another snide reply, I know I can use IIS in Windows 2000 Pro. That's what I've been doing for the last 6 years. My I.T. Director just built me a new PC to replace the one I'm currently using, which has a failing mobo. He installed Win2K Advanced Server on it. (Wouldn't have chosen to do that, myself, but he means well.)

I haven't tried installing DW, or any other apps on it yet. I'm trying to determine if I should use that O/S, or if that might lead to problems. I am allowed to install other O/S'es on it, if I need to.

Does that satisfy your curiosity?

Nothing rude about. Generally you install desktop app on desktops and
server apps on servers, generally things work better that way. But
your explanation below explains the exception.

Of course, have done it, but then not on a server.

You have not seen snide.
