I'm using dreamweaver 8 with coldfusion dev. edition. Apache is running, along with the cf server. (mac OX). I cannot figure out the correct site definitions so I can view the page in a browser. Does the testing server folder get linked to the apache web server folder or the cf app folder. They also say to use a url of http://localhost:8500. That doesn't seem to work. I've also tried http://localhost:8100. That doesn't work.

I've got the server model set to CF
Access: local
Testing server ????
URL??

I've got a different site set up in php and that seems to view fine. Do you use a different testing server and URL for coldfusion. I'm a bit confused?

Thanks for your help!!!

localhost:8500 is when you're running Cold Fusion as a standalone server.
If you're running it atop Apache, it would be the same as your Apache
localhost address .. probably just localhost?

I've got everything set the same, other than the file name, and that it is coldfusion rather than php. When trying to view in the browser of the cf version, i get an error: NOT FOUND - The requested URL/newland/index.cfm was not found on this server.
I don't know what is wrong?? Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!!!

It now opens in the browser; however, it shows all the coding rather than the design view???

Does "Create a CF datasource" in the server behavior panel need to be done in order to view anything? When I click on that link a get an error: The CF administrator URL test failed. Please double-check your site configuration. (HTTP Error: 404)
