Dreamweaver automatically updated from CS5 to CC

We just recently were updated to Windows 10 operating system from 7 Professionsal.  In the process, our Dw updated to 2019cc version.  No heads up in advance.  We are operating with no text and this is an entirely new window for Dw to us as we had been using Cs5.  Anybody know about a quickly obtainable source for a crash course in understanding how to use/navigate 2019?

This seems very weird that you would be automatically updated from CS5 to CC2019.  Someone had to manually do this as CS5 existed Prior to the Creative Cloud which started at CS6.  It sounds like maybe an IT compatibility issue arose so they just opted to put the new version on your machine.

Regardless, what do you mean you cannot see any text?  If there is an issue with the installation itself and compontents are not visible, I would first send you to this KB article ( https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/troubleshoot-javascript-errors-dreamweaver-cs6-cc.html ) to delete your preferences and cache in DW as this resolve many common errors.  Can you post a screenshot of the text that is not visible to you?

What I mean is the entire Dw CC 2019 window is very different in usage and appearance from Cs5.  Only the main menu appears and no "View" option that we had been using, like whole new software language set up almost (sort of).  None of the toolbars or properties, or panels,  or Classic view, etc.  Everything seems to be more geared towards coding.  What I need is to become as familiar with the new version as possible to be able to teach to that, now.  And you said, just updating to Windows 10, would not have automatically incorporated CC2019?  So, to be clear, our IT guy would have had to choose to do that, himself?  In other words, Cs5 would have stayed in our menu of softwares, just like the rest of our other software, true?

There is no update path from CS5 to CC2019. It absolutely can not happen automatically during an OS update.

The subscription to CC2019 would need to have been purchased for the program to be installed, unless they installed the trial version, which would mean you have 7 days to work with it.

Check with your IT department and have them reinstall CS5. Both programs can be on the same machines, at the same time, they just won't run concurrently. They may need to play with Windows compatiibility settings, but I'm sure I've seen others on W10 post in the forums working with EOL versions before.

That would give you time to get used to CC2019 while work gets done in CS5.
