Dreamweaver cannot locate my GIT

Please help, for some reason Dreamweaver cannot locate my GIT eventhough I have installed it to my newly purchased Mac Book Pro which is updated with the latest software. We have relaunched Dreamweaver and have tried and tried to use it but each time we get this message,'Dreamweaver could not locate the GIT client on your computer. Install Git and relaunch Dreamweaver to enable GIT features. You can also specify a custom path in Preferences'. Tried all of this but nothing works. What am I supposed to do?

I have the same problem. I have looked at the help article and it does not help. I wish this wasn't so confusing. I can set it up on a PC in 3 minutes but I can't get it set up on the Mac. I have tried and tried.

As the original post is over 3 years old, can you please confirm the version of DW you are using as well as the version of Mac OS related to your specific issue.
