Dreamweaver CC 2017 Crashing

Over the past number of days I have been unable to use Dreamweaver, on Windows 7 64bit, using my normal Domain account here on campus.  Dreamweaver had been working fine but now with the introduction of redirected folders I suspect Dreamweaver CC 2017 is having issues because of this.

I also have Photoshop CC 2017 and Acrobat DC running without any problems so this is isolated to Dreamweaver.

When I try to load Dreamweaver from my Domain account it loads and then stops responding.  Selecting the Debug option I get this error:dreamweaver error website.jpg

The actual number in the [] change each time but I can not successfully get it to load.  I have uninstalled all Adobe products using the CC App manager and then removed it.  I have then gone through my registry and cleared out all mentions of Adobe.  I have removed the Adobe folders from all the App Data locations so that I am starting from a clean slate!

All installed perfectly and Dreamweaver loaded fine the first time - however when I tried to load it again it started crashing again. I also tried logging in with a different user profile and again it loaded fine the first time however it did not load again for that user.

IF I logon as Domain Admin or a local user Dreamweaver works without any problem and therefore this suggests to me that it is a redirected folders issue.  As mentioned all other Adobe Apps that I have installed are working on any account so Dreamweaver is the black sheep.

I came across this discussion: Dreamweaver won't launch for standard user which seems to be exactly the same issue, however the suggested work-around doesn't work.  Has anybody else come across this issue? And if so have you found a solution either temporary or semi-permanent?

I'm very confused by this remark:

"When I try to load Dreamweaver from my Domain account it loads and then stops responding.  Selecting the Debug option I get this error..."

And then your Error Message refers to MS Visual Studio  Just In Time Debugger.   That has nothing to do with Dreamweaver or Adobe apps in general.

Dreamweaver is typically installed on your computer's primary hard drive.  Site files are saved to a defined local site folder on the same primary hard drive.

Maybe you can explain a bit more about your set-up and workflow so we can better understand what's going on.

Hi Nancy,

Thank you for replying to my post.

Yes - you are correct in what you say - Dreamweaver is trying to 'Debug' and my default 'debugger' it would appear is Visual Studio - so that's why that error comes up.

You are also correct in saying that Dreamweaver is installed on the computer's primary hard drive, which it is, however because of the network setup and redirected folders an App Data folder is created, both locally and on the servers with the redirected folders.

My theory is that when I load  Dreamweaver - all loads and then it goes 'looking' for whatever files it requires from the App Data folder on the redirected folders but it then gets 'lost' (this folder is never created locally in the Roaming folder on my local profile) - why I don't know and so can't complete loading.

I'm investigating the issue with my network manager to see if we can see anything obvious but so far nothing.  The fact that it runs using a local user or the domain administrator account means it has installed correctly.  However with a domain user account (even with administrator rights) it crashes.

I had Adobe onto me and they 'remoted' into my machine and tried all that I had tried and gave up! - they have said its a network issue and I don't disagree with them - I just wish I knew what it could be.  If none of the Adobe products worked then I could appreciate that there is a network issue but it is just Dreamweaver!?  If they could tell me what Dreamweaver is 'looking' for and failing to find and why then I could work on the network to resolve it but alas - nope

This sounds complicated.  I think you need to reach out to Tech Support.

Hi Nancy,

I did and they were of no help apart from telling me to speak to my network manager.

In the end out of pure frustration I removed my machine from group policy rules so that the redirected folders no longer applied.

Recreated my profile on my machine and reinstalled Dreamweaver without an hint of redirected folders and hay-presto, as I expected! it works.

Dreamweaver has issues I have no doubt but Adobe don't even know the answer!

Thanks for you help.
