Dreamweaver CC 2017 stops working.

Explorer ,
Feb 11, 2017 Feb 11, 2017

I have not been able to get Dreamweaver CC 2017 to work. This notification shows up when I start it (A problem caused the program to stop working correctly) It does open but the pop up appears before I can do anything. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling but it still happens any ideas? I have also tried loading 2015 version and it does work as long as I do not do an upgrade. I do not have Web Companion and can find no other programs that are causing a conflict.

Help please.

Johnna

I found the dasHost and turned it off. Then when I went in to delete the dll I got a notice saying that it could not be deleted as it is open in windows explorer. So I did this I went and got Malwarebytes AdwCleaner and ran it 3 times to make sure all Lavasoft files were gone. Then upgraded Dreamweaver to 2017 CC. It works now. Thanks so much for the help. I did not know that the Lavasoft files were on my computer until I looked in the hidden files and they showed up.

To download Malwarebytes | AdwCleaner

What does your Windows Event Viewer say is the faulting module?

LavaSoft is one known culprit.  Another cause is a missing or corrupted Graphics driver or DDL file.

Perhaps you did not read my reply.

What does your Windows Event Viewer say is the faulting module?

Most likely it's a missing or corrupted DLL file.  Which one?

I found the event viewer, but I have no experience with it. I have no idea what to look for.

I did at one time have adware on my computer but removed it. So how do I get rid of the Lavasoft?

LavasoftTcpService64.dll

Delete the DLL file.

Open your Windows File Explorer and search for the DLL file named above.  Be sure to turn on hidden items and file name extensions or you wont see it.

I found the Dll file, but cannot delete it because of something called dasHost.exe. It says it can not delete the dll because it is open in dasHost. This stuff is way beyond my experience level. LOL

Hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete.  Click on Task Manager.

Under Processes tab find the offending process -- dasHost.exe.

Right click on it and select End Task.

EDIT:  Also read this link that Ben posted earlier.

To download Malwarebytes | AdwCleaner  This is the easiest way to do it I think.

I'm glad you were finally able to resolve the problem.

It's a very stubborn plugin to remove.
