Dreamweaver CC 2019 is really slow and freezing when lots of files opened.

Does anybody know if I have to disable any settings to get it to play ball?

I am getting to the point were I am having to force quit the application.

Even having is crash out when flicking between files.

I've also experienced SUPER slow load times. From the time I click the desktop icon to start the program, it takes about 4 minutes simply to start a new blank document. I've been on phone support with adobe a number of times regarding slow performance of various apps. But with each end every upgrade, the performance goes right back to BAD!

I'e been using Dreamweaver for a very long time, since the early 2000s, for writing raw code. I do not need the visual creator portion.

From my perspective, Dreamweaver is now a liability in my professional toolbox. Why should my clients pay while I sit annoyed twiddling my thumbs waiting for software to load? It's maddening.

I've been meaning to find a replacement for several months now, and finally took the plunge. There are two or three EXCELLENT free coding programs out there, good for professionals. I installed Atom and am super happy with it.

maybe someone on this board can tell me how to make Dreamweaver responsive, and not so incredibly slow. And I haven't even mentioned the crashes and glitches. Kind of annoying that I pay for the software and dread using it. But I'm soooooo glad I finally bit the bullet and found a replacement. I love coding again.

Apologize for your experience. Jon's troubleshooting steps are the first ones I would try.

The other reasons for slowness are with files being present on a remote location, or the file size being huge. If these aren't your problems,  I suggest getting in touch with Contact Customer Care for further investigation.

Thanks,

I'm on Windows 10 64-bit and not having any latency problems with current version of DW CC 2019.

How many files is "lots of files"?

Is your local site folder residing on your primary hard drive and not a networked or dropbox type drive?
