Dreamweaver Crashes

New Here ,
Jan 09, 2018 Jan 09, 2018

What is the best version of dreamweaver to use to eliminate crashes and use the least amount of resources?

Do you have recommendations for system requirements.

My dreamweaver takes alot longer to load than any other editing tool I use and crashes so often that I rarely use it anymore.  I would like to be able to use it and be efficient.

I would like to you to check out a couple of things:

- Does your computer meet system requirements? Dreamweaver system requirements

- Is your file stored on your local device or on a remote network? If your files are on a remote location, can you try moving them to your device, and let me know?

- Run your code through the W3C validator for any errors

If everything is fine and you still need help, get in touch with Adobe Support contact-bumper

There's only one version of DW.  There's no Student, Professional, or Enterprise editions.  And what error are you getting when it crashes?  There are ways to troubleshoot that.

I still use CC2015, for me it's much more stable than anything that has come out since.

I don't know if we get the same trouble using DW... I've posted bug report concerning intense crash, we currently working on it and try to locate the bugs, perhaps that you perhaps could get the prerelease and complete the bug report by tour feedbacks.

currently as soon as I open DW and work more than an hour or two (in an intense manneer) ... I mean having ten of documents open and unsaved, going back and forth in between different application... DW increase its amlount of consumed ressources until hang up and crash... sometimes relaunching DW doesn't help... I really need to quit all opened ressources (most of helps) from task manager

it took 3 minutes to launch a search and replace on a 100 lines document containing 3 instances of a small given string

in the same time I open the same project on Sublime Text, and did reproduce the same context... works like acharm... so it is not OS, hardware, context... but DW... problem

Crashes produce logs which can be examined.  If your application is actually crashing, open your Windows Event Viewer and look for the Faulting Module.

it's a bit further complex... that's why I've proposed the OP to join the prerelease, there is there a step by step to get and package all the necessary files and informations to be sent to the team...
