Error message goes like this...

"From Suitcaseâ„¢:

There was a conflict when attempting to activate the font ITC Berkeley Oldstyle Std Italic in the suitcase BerkeleyStd-Italic.otf for this document. Please close the document and resolve the conflict in the Suitcase application."

After I shut down Dreamweaver error messages still pop up for every font I have activated, very annoying, I use Indesign the most so using suitcase to quickly activate fonts when needed is crucial. I basically have to restart my Mac every time after starting Dreamweaver.

I am having the same EXACT problem!

Mac OS 10.4.11, Extensis Suitcase X1 v11.0.5, MacBook Pro 15", Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.33 GHz.
CS4 Dreamweaver is the only app I've seen so far that is causing the problem. It's driving me batty. Every minute or so, I 6 pop-ups alerting me to different font conflicts. And they sit on top of EVERY OTHER OPEN WINDOW, so you really can't ignore them!

Someone please help!
Thanks

Have you already tried clearing the system font cache?...
http://www.extensis.com/en/support/kb_article.jsp?articleNumber=7502205

Sometimes that helps with that sort of unexplained conflict message.

Thanks for that but unfortunately that did not resolve the problem :-(
This forum is my teams last hope of finding a solution...
I sent in a Customer Support Portal (Case #0180585412) and the response was a little disappointing basically they say its not their problem even though they made indesign\photoshop\illustrator\flash perfectly with suitcase. Response as follows:

"Good day! Thank you for contacting Adobe Asia Pacific Support.
In response to your concern, we regret to inform you that our support
center does not have the technical expertise to troubleshoot on the
concern for we don’t have the Technical Know-How in using Suitcase
Extensis for it’s not developed by Adobe. Though the problem is
happening on our program Dreamweaver, turning off Suitcase Extensis will
not give you the said error and since Adobe recommends Extensis Font
Reserve and Extensis Suitcase for font management needs on OS X, we must
refer to Extensis for assistance."

So I take it we will not be seeing a patch anytime soon... :-(

I don't have much more advice to offer, sorry - aside from deleting your
Suitcase preferences and/or re-installing Suitcase and re-importing your
fonts (letting it check again for corrupt fonts while importing).

I know the fact that it only seems to occur in DW implies it's a DW
problem, but it's not necessarily the case. But might be worth doing the
same for DW (delete preferences, re-install).

Or, you could save some effort and set up a new user account on the
computer and see if the problem happens there too. If so, it's likely a
Preferences problem in either DW or Suitcase on the other user account.

Thanks! - "set up a new user account on the computer and see if the problem happens there too"

I did just that and the errors did not happen.
So here is how I resolved the problem:
In Extensis Suitcase X1 I trimed my Fonts Sets to just one folder in the "Sets Pane"
I then activated this one folder
I then went to the "Font List Filter" (the drop-down menu below the "Sets Pane") and set it to "Suitcase Fonts"
In the "Fonts Pane" I deleted every font that was NOT active (there was quite a few to delete).
I then restarted my Mac

All done! I didn't realise I had accumulated so much junk fonts over the last two years! And here I was thinking I was keeping on top of my fonts.

Thank you for this!  It fixed the mental breakdown my fonts where having.  I also ran an update to the Extensis Suitcase X1 found on their site.  Cheers!

Yeah, I know how that goes. I doubled for a while as an art directory
and web master, and for whatever reason, when there were font problems,
seemed like Dreamweaver and GoLive were the first to be affected (even
though I only obviously used the base set for web work). Doesn't take
long to get quite a collection of less than perfect font files when
dealing with customer artwork.
