I am working on maintaining my website and need to change to a different liberay. When I click on the Assets Dreamweaver hangs and I can not get it to recover. I get the "Not Responding" notification.
I ended up calling Adobe Tech support. After giving the tech support guy access to my computer to do trouble shooting he finally determined that there was a missing external file. We ended up copying the missing file from a backup of my website I had on an external backup drive. Once I got that file copyed into my main library all was well. Apparenty DW was hanging because it was searching for the missing file.

Try turning 'Display External Files' off.

BenPleysier,
Thanks for the suggestion. Sorry to say this didn't solve my problem.

Did you restart DW after turning off?

I've been having the same problem. Every time I click on Assets to change the library in Dreamweaver I have to force quit the application.

Thank you! I will look at my backup drive and see if I can find a missing file.

Loving the sarchasm as I agree that it would've been more helpful if other people could know what the file is. I have the same issue, and I am inclined to think that it is because this website has a large multi-tude of asssets and isn't database driven (very old site). My solution is to close the assets window and never look at it...and when I do accidentally click it, CTRL-ALT-DELETE will kill Dreamweaver so you can restart. Incidentally, I've had this problem with Dreamweaver since they introduced the nifty feature that has only ever been a nuisance to me.
