Dreamweaver V21.3 Build 15593
Old Windows 10 PC has Dreamweaver installed, Site directories are on Dropbox, Site in question works on this PC.
New Windows 11 PC also had Dreamweaver installed, same Site directories accessible via Dropbox. When attempting to update a HTML file to the server, Dreamweaver would error with "The connection to the remote host has been lost. Refresh to connect". This error was repeatable.
In an attempt to 'insure' that I had the correst Site info in place, from the Windows 10 PC I did an EXPORT of site into and then went to the Windows 11 PC and did a Site IMPORT. Same error when testing... but... now I have a second entry in the "Your Sites" list (both pointing to the shared directories on Dropbox.
On the Windows 11 PC in Site/Servers/More Options I clicked "Use Passive FTP" --- That fixed the server connection problem.
Question: Since I have two Site names in my "Your Sites" which are the 'same' site... if I choose to DELETE on via "Manage Sites" I want to make sure that the"shared" directory HTML files will not be deleted... just the "entry" in the "Your Sites" list.
Thourhts...?

Site defintions in DW don't actually contain any html, css, script or image files. They're just the specific settings for a given site, like server locations and FTP credentials.
Deleting the site definition will not affect the files it handles. You're safe.

I highly recommend transfering your local site folder to your primray hard drive when editing with Dreamweaver. Cloud drives like DropBox don't readily communicate with DW which may cause lags in performance and writing errors when saving. You can backup your files to DropBox but don't use it a replacement for your primary hard drive.
