Dreamweaver slow typing and code highlighting kills me

Community Beginner ,
Feb 10, 2017 Feb 10, 2017

Two problems:

1.) slow response in typing means I have to wait for the code I type to render on screen before typing the next line or the next word sometimes,  and it's getting very frustrating! I type code by hand without much regard for looking at my screen while I type.  I walk away from my computer to get coffee now and come back to se it's still trying to keep up with me.. And this is on a 2 day old Macbook Pro!

2.) code high lighting!?!?!  is there a way to turn this off.  I've turned off all the code highlighting options I could find and still it persists!  HELP!!!!!!  I can't see my own code because the colors are atrocious!

1) Try switching to Design view instead of Live view.  Live view has to refresh every time you make changes.  Design view does not.

2) See link below for details.

Solution: White on Mint Green Code Color.

thank Nancy... Design view did the trick for typing.. however my version won't let me create a new theme.  very strange.  I click the plus sign, I enter a new name for the theme... and then nothing.  the new theme doesn't show up in the list.

You need to update your version to 2017.0.1 in Creative Cloud Desktop App.

Also, the In-App Updates include 2 new code color Themes -- Raven and Solarized.  You need to have In-App Updates enabled in your Preferences.
