I am running Dreamweaver 21.1 on a MacBook Pro. As soon as I open anything in Dreamweaver the CPU goes to 100% or more and the fan runs like crazy. Is there any solution to this problem? I have searched online and found people reporting this in older versions, but have found nothing about this version.
Hi Nayan,
Thanks for the prompt reply. None of the suggestions you had worked, however I did solve the problem. I was using a video as a background and had it looping. When I took out the loop command CPU usage went down dramatically.

Hi @defaults1hds2lwo3e8 ,
Thanks for writing to us. Can you please try resetting Dw app preferences by following the steps in the below KB article.
Reset Dw app preferences: https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/restore-preferences-dreamweaver.html
Also, can you please help us with the below info so that we can try recreating the issue internally and investigate the issue accordingly.
1. Is 100% CPU seen with opening any specific file type. If possible, can you please share the file with us.
2. Are you opening the file in Code/Design/Live view where the issue is seen.
3. Is it happening with opening any specific large sized file. Can you please try opening a small size file and see if the issue is still seen.
4. Does CPU usage goes down after 2~3 mins of leaving Dw idle or CPU is at 100% at all times when Dw is open.
5. Approximate number of applications launched in the machine. Does CPU usage is high when having only Dw running on your machine.
6. OS and machine configuration details.
7. Can you please try disabling the below Dw preferences and see if CPU usage is at the lower side. These settings will be available in Dw preferences dialog.
a. Linting
b. Code hints
We can further have a remote connect session for further debugging the issue on your machine.
Have a pleasant day!
Regards,
Nayan
