Any idea why Ctrl-D for Duplicate not displayed in Keyboard shortcuts when it tells me it is already in shortcuts when I try to enter it?

I'm guessing that it's such a commonly used shortcut while coding that they didn't give DW the ability to actually change it.
That or it's essentially a type-o on the dev team's part.
At this point, there's no fixing it though. DW is in a minimum maintenance limbo state, the only type of updates Adobe has planned are OS compatibility and security patches. There won't be any bug fixes or feature requests in the foreseeable future.

in complement of what @Jon Fritz said, I will add that in fact at the base the duplication, although effective at the level of the view code, is a duplication functionality at the level of the file panel, so you will find the presence of the shortcut in the shortcuts > site panel > edition

Thanks, Lena. But I don't see it in the English version. It doesn't explain why Duplicate is indicated as a having a shortcut without an indication of the shortcut so far as I could see.

To avoid any confusion, let's make sure we're talking about the same shortcut location.
Once you have opened the keyboard shortcuts palette Edit > keyboard shortcuts, in the palette that opens you have a list of menus, including the Edit menu. So far, so good.
But I'm not talking about this one.
Above the list of menus, you have a Commands selector.
Among the choices, you can choose, Site panel.
The menu list changes, and there you have a new Edit menu, which contains the keyboard shortcut associated with Duplicate.
Is this still missing in your DW build ?

Yes, I'm afraid so on Dreamweaver 21.2. But I am puzzled why Dreamweaver does not indicate the shortcut in the shortcuts menu.

Open Files Panel (F8).
Right-click on any file or folder > Edit > Duplicate.
Does that help you?

don't you think that the screen shot posted by @L e n a , plus the explanations done by her in the previous comments wasn't enought explanatory ?

Oh spare me your criticisms, Birnou. I'm not in the mood for it today. We've had numerous power outages for no reason.
My computer is giving me problems. Maintaining a stable Internet connection is a struggle. I have work to do and I don't have time to read everyone's posts. Sorry.
If you don't like my replies, please don't read them. Thank you.

I understand your problems, I sympathize and I'm deeply sorry for offending you, but you know @Nancy OShea , I think the whole world is not spared right now...we all have our share of worries, problems and stresses...we don't condescend to them though. I don't think that having worries should affect the respect we owe each other
I see this community as a group of virtual friends who have never met but share the same passion. Of course, we all have a different vision of flows and tools, but beyond answering questions, taking the time to listen to our differences is a bit the goal of this forum, in order to give it this plurality that we form
moreover to answer an identical message inserted between the question and the previous answer made by folks totally denigrates the anteriority and the relevance of the answer made before yours. And, please, you practice enough the ACP forum not to know this particularity of the forum.

in fact it is indicated but not in the place you are looking for it.
I seem to remember (but with the heat my memory often plays tricks on me...), that at the time of the implementation of the code duplication, the shortcut was already assigned to the file duplication.
The assignment controller should not have been designed to allow the same shortcut to two different features. Probably this could explain that.

I think this is just at the File level rather than text level, which is how I use it.

It doesn't appear on my file list options anyway. This is really just a suggestion for the Dreamweaver Design Team for the next version or update.

It is strange that this does not appear in your configuration. It must be a display bug. The context menu obtained by right-clicking on the file(s) or by the hamburger menu at the top right of the file panel, should both display the edit menu and the duplicate submenu with their keyboard shortcuts.
On the other hand, unfortunately DW has entered a minimum maintenance phase and will never be updated in a strong way again, just a minimum maintenance of operation on each OS.
This means that DW is taking a soft route.

There is no Duplicate Code/Text feature in DW.
Use Ctrl/Cmd + C (copy).
Move cursor to insertion point.
Use Ctrl/Cmd + V (paste).

In fact there is two other options
One can place the cursor anywhere on a line and pressing Ctrl|Cmd + D, will duplicate the entire line just below the cloned line...
or
One can also set a selection of text, and pressing Ctrl|Cmd + D will duplicate this snippet, just after the end of the cloned snippet

Right. But DW doesn't have a menu item for it on text/code.
What does Ctrl + D do on Windows?

What does Cmd + D do on Mac?

In fact that is what I explained since the starting thread, that DW offer this double feature... which was first implemented in files panel... but was also working in code view...
the main goal here is that using it during code session works, and that is a realy wonderfull help.
now to answer @phulm I suggest , in a previous comment, that the assignement controller should not have been designed to allow the same shortcut to two different features
I seem to remember when it was implemented in Macromedia time, there was a large thread about code duplication, but my memory plays with me.. now... 😉
