I am BEYOND disbelief that Adobe put out 2017 REMOVING code coloring - especially touting a developer friendly interface. It's horrendous for developers and anyone working with php, asp, and other code.
Previous versions automatically colored my code as soon as I set MySQL/PHP or ASP as the site type. Contrary to what Adobe touted, NONE of the code settings synch. NO ONE who has ever even worked on ONE site let alone managing 35 sites with asp and php throughout must have USED this before release.
I don't know who is on the dev team for Dreamweaver, but it's definitely losing credibility with even LITE coding pros. I am reverting to previous DW and would like to know when 2017 becomes usable.
In addition to no code coloring, code disappears totally in the code window - showing blank on occassion and a few other glitches that make 2017 completely unproductive for me. The properties inspector and code navigator are buggy and unreliable when multiple classes on an element + multiple style sheets present.
I;m a long time user on a WIN 10 64bit HP Envy - i7 6500 with 16GB RAM. It's not the computer and it's not me not knowing where the settings are.
How do I safely reinstall 2015?
Hi everyone,
Please update to the latest version of Dreamweaver 2017.0.1 where most issues with code coloring have been addressed.
See Dreamweaver 2017.0.1 is now live for more info.

This version was definitely not ready for prime time. Apparently, some of what you mention was in the beta, but was removed before pushing the program out for Adobe MAX.
Due to the javascript html entity rewrite bug, I can't use this version for production until at least the next dot release.
Here's how you get the older version back on your system (if you allowed the new version to remove it during installation)...

Unfortunately Adobe has completely messed it up. Its the final straw for us, our workflow has been built around Dreamweaver since version 3 but we can't put our business at the mercy of Adobe anymore, at least we can use cc 2015 for a while we look at and take the leap to new options
Priorities are all wrong Adobe, listening to wrong the people as usual serious Dreamweaver users who's business and workflow rely on it get the rug pulled from under their feet, while the people who want to play about with it and see what Brackets would look like in there get to have a play and then go back to Brackets.

Please post a vote here so we can hopefully get full flexibility back for code colouring:

It's a pretty basic feature in an editor to have code colouring on a per language basis, especially as its common place to have 2,3 or more languages in a web page. If anyone is still wondering why you cannot colour your PHP or or JS blocks separately.from your HTML in the same file, when you post a bug or feature request you need to ask for support for the addModeClass flag and mode-aware styles in theme files. More info below:
Search for mode-aware or addModeClass here on the Brackets Github page for more info:
Creating Themes · adobe/brackets Wiki · GitHub
BTW Brackets uses CodeMirror so you can also reference their docs about the addModeClass:
https://codemirror.net/doc/manual.html
Preran if possible can you relay to the DW team, a lot of people are asking for this feature, maybe in a variety of different ways which is confusng the issue but essentially this is what they want. Thank you

Thank you for the call out Paul. I was on vacation, and am back at work from today.
Henceforth, please redirect all your feature requests to the team directly using this link Adobe Dreamweaver CC: Feature Ideas
We will also be taking down the wish list form soon for DW to have one place where people can log such info.
Thanks,
Preran
