DW 2019 and 2020, Not responding

New Here ,
May 05, 2020 May 05, 2020

I've been using 2017 and I started using 2019 and 2020, every time I go to make a change I get a "not responding" message.  I noticed this in 2018 and went back to 2017.  Now that I've updated my Creative Cloud to 2019 and 2020, I'm having issues whenever I make a change.  It's taking me an extra 15 minutes to update my newsletter because of the software times out. How do we fix this?

Best thing to start with is this KB article: https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/troubleshoot-javascript-errors-dreamweaver-cs6-cc.html .  Try deleting the filecache and user config folder.  If those don't work you could try another user account on the OS as there have been cases where a corrupt OS user can cause issues and migrating to a new account is the best solution. I have done this before myself.

1. Please ensure your computer meets or exceeds the minimum system requirements to run Creative Cloud + Dreamweaver and all other apps you use.  Requirements vary by product and platform so check each one.
https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/system-requirements.html

2. Keep your local site folder on your primary hard drive instead of cloud / networked drives.

3. Turn off non-essential background processes like real-time backups, anti-virus file scans, sleep mode, etc...

4. Validate code and fix reported errors.  Window > Results > Validation.

5. Switch to Design view.

6. Open Creative Cloud Desktop App. Click Settings (gear icon) > Syncing.  Pause syncing.  Done.  Close CC Desktop App.

Post back if you still need help.
