DW8 vs DWCS3

New Here ,
Jun 08, 2007 Jun 08, 2007
I was wondering if Dreamweaver CS3 introduces anything new for application development (I use PHP and MySQL)? It seems the major features of this version focus on CSS and Ajax based on reviews I am reading.

Thanks!

Only if you get the Dreamweaver Developer Toolbox which has much of the
former Interakt Kollection stuff in it. That's an additional $300. There
is however an XML Export extension offered as a free registration incentive
after you upgrade.

The Toolkit does indeed greatly enhance application dev, and yes CSS/Ajax is really pushed in here, too (with greatness regarding standards may I add).. but it also boasts things that although not directly related to the physical application development, can improve your experience never the less..

True to the heart data representation, if you are working with (in your case PHP/MYSQL) you can work with anything from recordsets to simple php includes functions and have it all actively be executed and displayed right in the DW workspace with "Live View"

It connects to Adobe Products seemlessly, heck you can even take PSDs and import/modifiy/work with them right in Dreamweaver!

MUCH better deployment

Drag n' drop data fields,

gosh the list goes on, it really does. Pick up or go to your bookstore and look at the section of whats new in DW CS3 in the book "Wiley Dreamweaver CS3 Bible"
