Emailing using "mailto"

Hia everyone

right, to get this straight, I am probably to you a COMPLETE NEWB, so nice n simple please!

I am currently developing a website in dreamweaver MX 2004 and I have an order form that needs to be submitted by email. I found "mailto" and set about trying to use it.

First, I put "mailto: myaddy@blah.com" in the actions area of the form that contains the order form if you know what I mean.

When I click "submit" on the preview, it brings up some warning boxes but the progress bar says that the email is sending.
However, no email is recieved.

1: where do I need to put "mailto"? in the button or in the form's actions area?
2: am i doing anything else wrong?
3: aaaaaaarrrgh.

cheers
joe

You're better off in Dreamweaver general discussion. This particular
forum/newsgroup is fairly low volume. I've crossposed it to there.

This might shed some light:

http://apptools.com/rants/mailto.php

Once you've read that, come back with questions.

cheers Joe.
If you mean that my question is now in the general discussion area, I will have a look. However, that website has answered most of my questions.

thanks again!

Exactly. Just for the record:
- This board/newsgroup is for the discussion of extensions, and has 125
posts since June 27.
- The Dreamweaver general discussion board has 16753 posts over the same
time period.

So you are more likely to get your posts answered in the general
discussion area.

Glad it helped. Gary, the guy who wrote it, hangs out here too.
