Error message when typing in an ID for my image.

I inserted an image in Dreamweaver and I'm trying to add an "ID" to it in "properties" but it keeps telling me that I'm entering an invalid text and that only letters and numbers can be used but it can not start with a number.

I do not even have a number in my text.

I'm new to Dreamweaver (taking a class right now and it's my homework).

I click on the image first and then type in text (ex. "karen"), then when I click "enter" I'm getting this message.

Anyone here know why I can't do that?

Yes, thank you Ben, that's the message I'm getting. I have a screen shot attached. What can I do?

Actually, when I type "karen", nothing happens. When I type the name of the artist "karen hale" or any other word, I get the message.

As Paul says. "karen" is also illegal because the double quotes is not alphabetic. In your screen shot, remove the double quotes.

You say you're taking a class in Dreamweaver.  IMO, learning how to code properly is a more productive use of  your time.   With good coding skills, anybody can learn to use DW in a few hours.  Without good coding skills, the learning curve is quite steep.  See link below.

They teach us some coding and referred to this website, but I just started class. Thank you! I think I got it resolved. There was something I needed to uncheck. That was part of the reason why it wasn't doing anything. Thanks again!
