extension invalid

im trying to download an extension that sets file permissions, but every time i try i get an error message that says extension invalid and thats its unable to install, the copy of dreamweaver i'm trying to attach it to is mx 2004 and the extension says it is designed for mx.

anyone have any ideas whats going wrong

According to this page:

The DWMX version of that extension doesn't work in DWMX2004. YOU should try this one:
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&extid=1013102

If you still get a invalid extension message try downloading the MXP with a different browser as I've seen a few folks say that switching browsers has helped the invalid extension issue.

thanks Danilo, what you said worked but when i went to use it, it said it only works on version 7.0.1 ahh, i have no idea what version i have but i'm guessing its not 7.0.1
think i'm going to have to forget dreaweaver and download filezilla instead

Version 7 is Dreamweaver MX 2004. 7.0.1 is the updater for the initial release of DWMX04. You can check the version you have installed by going to Help -> About Dreamweaver, then clicking the about screen once and you should see the installed version number.

To move to 7.0.1 you can get the updater for DWMX04 here:
